Dandelions are bright yellow flowers which are considered weeds. They form fluffy seed heads that are a childhood delight. Some refer to them as wish flowers, thinking that if you make a wish as you blow away the seeds you might get some luck. Another tradition is to count how many breaths it takes to blow all the seeds away as a means to tell the time. This decoration of a dandelion is meant to evoke these memories of childhood summers.
