Ferns are synonymous with the British woodlands. In folklore they gift invisibility. During the Victorian era there was a fern craze for collecting and displaying ferns in wardian cases, known as pteridomania. I have been inspired by the beautiful shapes and prehistoric history of ferns for a long time and am delighted to add this design to my collection. A small speciman of a broadleaf fern has been etched on to clear glass. It is framed in copper foil and solder (as in stained glass) and can be hung in a window or from a branch.
